How do I enter "Roll Up" in program code?

How do I enter "Roll Up" in program code?

Postby HP41user » Wed Oct 14, 2009 6:10 am

The HP41 series have a Roll Down button, but no Roll Up button. For the life of me, I cannot see what the key sequence is to code a "Roll Up" in program code. I know I could do 3 Roll Downs, but I'd like to know how to do the Roll Up.

Anyone got any ideas?

You can enter Roll Up by typing the name in Alpha mode (the up arrow is a shifted character on the ENTER key - N letter in Alpha mode) :

XEQ ALPHA R SHIFT N ALPHA

if you use it frequently you can assign it on a key in User mode

Aha! I thank you.

Is there an explicit list of all these coded entries anywhere? I searched and found nothing.

You're welcome!

You have a Function Index at the end of the HP-41 manual or in your Quick Refence Guide showing how to spell a function name.

For the Alpha and Shifted Alpha keyboard it is included in the documents above or you can look at the back of your HP-41:

OK Thanks again.

I had spent time reading both of those reference manuals, and although they deal with the concept of 'Roll Up', nowhere do the give the actual key sequence to enter this command, and the command is not exactly logical. I have not had this problem with any other function, so this is a small, but significant oversight in the manual.

Thanks for filling in that gap.

Regards.
