Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:57 pmA portion of the top of the display is blacked out. Looks like ink bleeding on the screen. Is this a connection issue or does the display need to be replaced?

Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 6:36 pmIt sounds like the LCD is bad. Bad connections will affect the operation of segments, but not a portion of the LCD that has no segments or annunciators. fixthatcalc.com apparently does an outstanding job of repairs on these if you're not up to doing it yourself.
