HP41 CV Key Pad

Postby NZrob » Sat Jun 23, 2012 8:41 am

I have restarted using my 41cv after a break of 15 years or so and everything is working well apart from the R/S key which sticks sometimes, it does not have the normal click as when pressing any of the other keys. If anyone has a good idea on how to make the key work properly and/or any general hints on keeping the keys in good order they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Hello, I had same problem. Just pressed many (mayby 100) times R/S key and it began to work again?

Hello Nzrob ,
I suggest you to clean your keyboard as described by Geof Quickfall on Hpmuseum forum (link below).
http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap ... ead=217869
It is very efficient. I 've tried with a circuit cleaner (KF2 but there are many others) and now, it works fine with the typical "Hp feel touch". Don't try to pull up the keyboard circuit, it's very hard and dangerous (only for experts).
Good luck
Theo

The problem with my HP41 keypad has been cleared by following your tips. Now I was able to use all the features in the keypad effectively. All the delay is altered and I appreciate you for the hints on keeping the key in good order.
