I HAVE A HP-41CV WITH CARD READER. THE DISPLAY WHEN LOOKING HEAD ON IS LOW AND HARD TO READ, YET LOOKING AT A SLIGHT ANGLE IT IS BRIGHT AND CLEAR. IS THERE A REPAIR THAT CAN BE DONE? IF SO WHERE CAN I SEND TO BE REPAIRED? WHAT WOULD BE CAUSING THIS? :?:

If you mean you have to look at it from the side, I've never heard of that one. If you just mean you have to look at it from a low angle from the front, it sounds like the LCD backplane voltage is messed up, which although I think can be set on a halfnut in M-code, may be from a bad connection in your case. I've heard nothing but good about fixthatcalc.com . I don't have any experience with them, but they sound great.

I have loved the 41cv and cvx since shortly after they were introduced. I dropped my last working one of 4 and it stopped too. Does anyone out there have one or two for sale.

Edwardgbennett, fixthatcalc.com works wonders. I hope you didn't get rid of your non-op 41's, because I'm sure fixthatcalc.com can get all of them going again. Actually, that info is from reading many times of others' experience. My own 23-year-old 41cx has never had a problem and I use it every day.

There are plenty of HP-41 on the ebay for those who like to get one.
