I need to repair my hp82143 printer, which is not advancing the paper correctly.
The reason was the very old and meanwhile hard printer rollers. I treated them with an excellent product, CaiKleen RBR. (you can buy it from amazon in the US, for Europe you need to find a distributor. I purchased it at Micro-tools.de http://www.micro-tools.de/Fette-OEle/CaiKleen-RBR-OEler.html. )
I refurbished the printer rollers and the printout looks ok now.
However, the print head movement is not smooth anymore, it sticks half the way to the other side (after 2,3 lines printed there is a squeak, then the printhead stops on his way to the other side).
I suspect that CaiKleen came on the axis of the printer roller and made a smooth movement of the entire construction difficult / impossible. Only chance is to open the printer construction and clean and oil whatever is needed.
For that purpose I need to take out the mechanical printer unit out of the printer.
Adn to do this it is necessary to pull the flexible print head PCB out of its connector.
And that’s the problem: just pulling the pcb gently or with a reasonable amount of power doesn’t help. The pcb is not getting out of its connector.
I tried to find a trick, how to push, pull or wiggle on the connector that he releases the pcb, but nothing help so far.
Does anyone has an idea how to remove the flat pcb? Is there a trick or is brute force really needed?
