82143A Paper Does Not Fully Advance.

I have a 82143A printer that I have not used in many years because of battery problems with my HP41CX. I have the HP41CX problem fixed and tried the printer. Amazingly, the printer battery will hold a charge and the printer is working except that the paper does not fully advance when it is printing. The printer sounds normal when the paper is advancing and so I assume the problem is with the printer roller. I am thinking about taking the printer apart to see what can be done - If the roller is the problem, I will see if I can find an o-ring to to repair it. An suggestions?

TEAC, the company that used to make consumer and semi-professional tape recorders, used to sell a rubber cleaning and conditioning fluid for pinch rollers on tape recorders. I think the stock number is RC or RC-1. Besides cleaning the rubber, it made it really "grippy." I expect that would help the printer roller a lot, although I have not tried it on the 82143A (which I don't have). You might see if they still carry it. Their website is teac.com . Their USA office is in Montebello, CA. I worked there in the early 1980's, repairing tape recorders.
