My guess that this was a hoax back in old days.
No one seems to know anything about it.

Yes, it is a hoax, and a good one! It was the funny way to say that all TI calcs were crap and that all the guys who bought an HP did a good investment. The big RPN vs. AOS war still flares up today from time to time. Although I like RPN very much I'm not that ideological on that so there are also a few non-RPN calcs in my collection.
