Software Defined Wand

Postby mike-stgt » Mon Aug 28, 2023 11:37 pm

During the setup of a "new" laptop I had to learn, the Software Defined Wand (SDW) of my NutEm/PC will work by chance only (if at all), or in very few rare cases. It turns out that an important option was set coincidentally on all my old machines. Without it, barcode scanns prepared for analysis will look like following example (enlarged clipping). My SDW is inapt to disentangle such "crocheted borders".

Edit: the statement above should be changed to past tense, since this bug (and also another one) is fixed in update with timestamp 2023-08-31.

Did you notice any performance change after applying the 2023-08-31 update fix?

Question: for what purpose did you add a link in font size 1 to your append? In the quote I changed the size so it's visible (as underscore) and modified the URL to make it non-effective.

In addition, your query smells like AI since the answer is already given in my OP (most human will grasp it), plus you ask 2025 about a modification from 2023 while the last revision is published Jul 10, 2025 -- none of the earlier versions are available any more.

For me your append smells funny, rather fishy.
