barcode system is being used

How do I recognize what barcode system is being used? I have a barcode and what it decodes to, but I need to find out WHAT code system was used, so that I can create more barcodes in the same code system. Where can I go, online, to determine what system is being used?

Do a search (I use ixquick.com, not google) for "Creating Your Own HP-41 Barcode Manual". You'll get lots of results that are helpful that got info from this manual.
